Historic Trails of British Columbia
This dataset contains spatial and tabular data on non-archaeological historic trails in B.C. Some of these trails, or sections of trail, are defined or protected under provincial legislation such as the Heritage Conservation Act. Other trails or trail segments are recorded but not legally protected. This dataset represents line feature data (e.g. trail routes).
ORV Trail plans - 50k
Off Road Vehicle (ORV) Trail Plan show the trails (whether individually or by zone) within the off-road vehicle management area or the part of the off-road vehicle management area for which a trail plan is developed, on which an off-road vehicle may be used. A red, yellow, green scheme is used to symbolize the level of restriction on the trail plan. Red: off road vehicles are prohibited; Yellow: off road vehicles are prohibited except where designated by an approved Off Road Management Area Trail Plan; Green: off road vehicles are not prohibitedDistributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Other trails or trail segments are recorded but not legally protected. This dataset represents polygon feature data (e.g. cleared areas associated with trails).
Historic Trail Features of British Columbia
This dataset contains spatial and tabular data on non-archaeological historic trails in B.C. Some of these trails, or sections of trail, are defined or protected under provincial legislation such as the Heritage Conservation Act. Other trails or trail segments are recorded but not legally protected. This dataset represents point feature data (e.g. cabins, landmarks).
Points of Interest
This dataset shows official trails and points of interest within Wildlife Management Areas in Manitoba. This dataset shows official trails and points of interest within Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) in Manitoba. Trails The purpose of this layer is to show recognized trails in Manitoba's wildlife management areas (WMAs). Fields included (alias (field name): field description) OBJECTID (OBJECTID): sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated WMA (WMA_Name): wildlife management area name Trail Name (Trail_Name): trail name or number Type (Type): trail type (e.g., walking or biking) Restrictions (Restrictions): use restrictions for the trail Points of Interest The purpose of this layer is to show important points of interest within Manitoba's wildlife management areas (WMAs). These include watercraft access points, interpretative kiosks, trail heads, picnic areas, primitive toilets, and ecological features like snake dens. Fields included (alias (field name): field description) OBJECTID (OBJECTID): sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated WMA (WMA_Name): wildlife management area name Feature Name (Feat_Name): name of the point of interest Type (Type): type of feature (e.g., trailhead, interpretive centre) Details (Details): details about the point of interest More information (Info): link to additional information about the point of interest, when available

Ontario Trail Network
The Ontario Trail Network (OTN) contains geospatial networks of trails in urban, rural and wilderness settings that are managed by a named organization for transportation, recreation, active living or tourism purposes. The OTN relies on data sharing partnerships with local trail organizations and municipal, provincial and federal governments for ongoing updates and maintenance. Trails in the OTN must be: * associated with a named trail organization * intended for free or paid public access * marked and maintained The OTN collection includes two data classes: * Ontario Trail Network segment derived * Ontario Trail Network access points __Ontario Trail Network segment derived__ This spatial dataset represents segments of trails in the OTN. Trail segments define a linear corridor through the natural or urban environment. The corridors may be single segments or form a looping system. The data includes characteristics about each trail, such as: * trail name * trail association * permitted use * description * length Examples of trail types include: * hiking or walking * cycling * cross-country skiing and snowshoeing * paddling and portage * equestrian * snowmobiling, all terrain vehicle and off-road motorcycle * barrier free (wheelchair accessible) * ice skating Some trail networks have official access points. You can find the location of these points in the OTN_ACCESS_POINT spatial dataset. __Ontario Trail Network access points__ This spatial dataset represents the main access points to a trail system that is part of the OTN. This layer should be used together with OTN Segment Derived. Access points can be spatially related to a trail network based on relative location to a trail segment. Not all trail networks will have official access points.
Crown Land Trails
The Crown Land Trails dataset is a collection of linear features representing the location of trails on Crown land administered under the Public Lands Act, Provincial Parks Act, Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas, Heritage Rangelands Act and Willmore Wilderness Parks Act in Alberta. Please note that this dataset supersedes the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park Trails and Fish Creek Trails datasets. The dataset also includes provincial trails designated under the Trails Act and established as provincial trails under the Public Lands Act, through Ministerial Order. These provincial trails include the trail tread (the surface on which people travel) as well as a boundary which is minimum 10m either side of the centerline of the trail tread. The boundary is defined in the Trail Designation: Ministerial Order. This boundary is to ensure associated structures are captured within the trail boundary, such as signs, parking areas, and warming shelters and ensure the safety of people using the trail system. If any discrepancy occurs between the Alberta Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ) maps and data the maps shall take precedence. For provincial trails, Public Land Use Zone maps have not been updated to reflect provincial trails. Users must adhere to the signs and notices for the applicable trail.

Manitoba Parks - Winter Recreation Trails
Polyline feature layer of winter trails in Manitoba provincial parks. This feature layer contains polylines showing locations of winter trails in Manitoba provincial parks. Winter trails are those trails designated for certain winter activities, such as cross-country skiing, skijoring, skate-skiing, fat biking, and dog sledding. Most of these trails are groomed by Manitoba Parks staff throughout the season. This layer is used in the interactive map Manitoba Parks - Winter Activity Trails Map and the web app Manitoba Parks - Winter Trails and Recreation Areas. The dataset includes the following fields (Alias (Name): Description) Trail Name (Trail_Name): Name of the trail Park Name (Park_Name): Name of the provincial park where the trail is located Winter Use (Winter_Use): Indicates whether or not the trail is designated for winter use (Note: All features in this layer have a value of 'Yes') For more information about winter activities, visit the Manitoba Parks website.
