Manitoba's Provincial Forest Boundaries (version 6): There are currently 15 provincial forests totalling almost 22,000 km2. Attributes include the name of the provincial forest, the year it was established and its area. Manitoba's provincial forests reserve certain areas in the province for perpetual growth of timber, preserve the forest cover thereon and provide for a reasonable use of all the resources that the forest lands contain. All Crown lands within a provincial forest are withdrawn from disposition, sale, settlement or occupancy, except under authority of the Forest Act . Before the Province of Manitoba was established, European settlers were promised 160 acres of free land if they lived on it and cleared it for agriculture. As a result, farms began replacing our southern forests. The federal government decided they must retain some forests for building material. In 1885 , they established Turtle Mountain, Spruce Woods and Riding Mountain (now a national park) as timber reserves. Duck Mountain and Porcupine Mountain followed in 1906. What started out as federal timber reserves 100 years ago have become our provincial forests of today. Manitoba has 15 provincial forests , totalling almost 22,000 sq. km . These forests are among the highest quality timber stands in the province. Today, our provincial forests are much more than reserves for timber. They are also places for wildlife, recreation and research. Control of Manitoba's forests was transferred from the federal to the provincial governments in 1930. (ADP) created version of the Alberta provincial boundary. Legal Subdivisions and adjacent road allowance segment polygons are new data that were not available for publication at the inception of ATS Version 4.1.

This map displays the percentage of organic matter in the surface layer of cultivated soils in the agricultural region of Alberta. Soil organic matter (SOM) is derived primarily from the decomposition of plant biomass. SOM improves both the physical and chemical properties of soil and has beneficial effects on agricultural soil quality. SOM is reported on the map as a percentage using the following classes: less than 2 (very low), 2 to 4 (low), 4 to 6 (medium), 6 to 8 (high) and greater than 8 (very high).This resource was created in 2002 using ArcGIS.

RAILLINE_OFFICIAL is one of the important layers for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). The RAILLINE_OFFICIAL provides the information of Railine to clients that require accurate, relatively up-to-date and detailed description of Saskatchewan Railline Network.RAILLINE_OFFICIAL data layer was developed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways & infrastructure and contains the OFFICIAL version of the rail lines network in the province. RAILLINE_OFFICIAL layer has the linear geomtry of the CN, CP and provincial/shortline rail line in Saskatchewan. This version of the network is the one used for mapping, querying and plotting.

(ADP), on behalf of the Government of Alberta, the ATS v4.1 Polygons - Township Index polygon layer contains polygons that represent the location of Township polygons, derived from the Master Alberta Township System points file published as ATS Version 4.1, dated March 31, 2005, and clipped to an updated Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP) created version of the Alberta provincial boundary. No road allowance segments are included in this layer.

The Canadian Precipitation Analysis System (CaPA) produces a best estimate of 6 and 24 hour precipitation amounts. This objective estimate integrates data from in situ precipitation gauge measurements, radar QPEs and a trial field generated by a numerical weather prediction system. In order to produce the High Resolution Deterministic Precipitation Analysis (HRDPA) at a resolution of 2.5 km, CaPA is connected to the continental HRDPS for its trial field. CaPA-HRDPA produces four analyses of 6 hour amounts per day, valid at synoptic hours (00, 06, 12 and 18 UTC) and two 24 hour analysis valid at 06 and 12 UTC. A preliminary production is started 1 hour after valid time and a final one is launched 7 hours later. This translates into a production of 12 analyses per day.
