Watershed Districts
The purpose of this dataset is to provide the public with the areal extents of the 14 watershed districts in Manitoba.The Watershed Districts Act , proclaimed on January 1, 2020, transitioned 18 conservation districts to 14 watershed districts, with boundaries based on watersheds. Along with this change, the Manitoba Conservation Districts Program was renamed the Manitoba Watershed Districts Program, and the program was modernized to enhance watershed-based water management in Manitoba. The goal of the program is to create healthy and sustainable watersheds through land and water stewardship programs and partnerships. With funding from the Manitoba government and municipal partners, locally-appointed watershed district boards make planning and management decisions to improve watershed health across most of rural Manitoba. TANTALIS - Land Districts
TA_LAND_DISTRICTS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of the current extent of the administrative areas defined under Section 2 of the Land Act as Land Districts. The was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the administrative boundaries information in the Tantalis operational system. These administrative regions are defined under Section 2 of the Land Act for the purpose of managing and uniquely identifying cadastral survey parcels

Watershed polygons are a graphical representation of watershed boundaries as defined in the Clean Water Act - Watershed Protected Area Designation Order. Attributes include municipality, primary and secondary treatment, Map ID and Watershed name.

The School Districts dataset contains the spatial representation (polygon) of the current extent of the administrative areas defined under section 176(1) of the School Act for the purposes of preservation and promotion of the fundamental principle of local autonomy and control of public education at the public and governmental levels through locally elected school boards.

The Air and Watershed Resource Management Contacts and Boundaries dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Air and Watershed Stewardship districts and the manager to contact with questions or concerns about environmental framework implementation and management response. This dataset was created to lend support to the Regulatory Assurance Division.
Woodlands Improvement Act areas
Data from the former Kemptville, Midhurst and Aylmer Districts were compiled in this dataset to show forest areas on private land, managed by the landowner in cooperation with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources under the Woodlands Improvement Act (WIA). The WIA allowed for 15-year management agreements between landowners and the MNR to plant and improve woodlands on private land. The WIA was in place from 1966-1999. This data is being provided as-is. No additional data is available, and no updates or maintenance are planned for this dataset.

Ministry of Natural Resources District
Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) regions are divided into districts - smaller organizational units - to help manage ministry programs and resources. Extents of the districts were originally compiled by description of: metes and bounds, topographic features, geographic township boundaries, territorial district boundaries, etc. Changes to the extent of the districts have been made over time by MNR district offices. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
