Traditional territories of Yukon first nations and settlement areas of Inuvialuit and Tetlit Gwich'in within the Yukon Territory. A Traditional Territory is an area of the Yukon that the people of a First Nation have traditionally used. A First Nation's Settlement Lands fall inside the boundaries of its Traditional Territory. A First Nation does not own its Traditional Territory, but the First Nation and its benificiaries have a number of rights within their Traditional Territory, both on and off of Settlement Land. This data was built using the 1:250,000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) data as the base and the 1:500,000 hardcopy traditional territory maps as signed by individual First Nation chiefs on November 8, 1988 for the line work.The White River First Nation asserted traditional territory boundary in this dataset was updated on November 7, 2024.The Acho Dene Koe First Nation asserted traditional territory boundary in this dataset was updated on June 16, 2025.

Since 1988, the governments of Canada and Quebec have been working together to conserve, restore, protect and develop the St. Lawrence River under the St. Lawrence Action Plan (SLAP). One of the projects identified under the theme of biodiversity conservation is the development of an integrated plan for the conservation of the natural environments and biodiversity of the St. Lawrence River.The identification of priority sites for conservation has been the first step of this planning exercise. Conservation planning of natural environments requires a reliable, accurate and up-to-date image of the spatial distribution of ecosystems in the study area. In order to produce an Atlas of Priority Sites for Conservation in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, an updated cartography of the land cover of this vast territory was undertaken.This project required obtaining reliable information on the natural environments of the St. Lawrence Lowlands. Although several land cover mapping projects have been conducted for specific types of habitats, it was particularly important to obtain a homogeneous product that would cover the entire territory and that would provide the most detailed information on its various thematic components: agricultural, aquatic, human-modified and forest environments, wetlands as well as old fields and bare ground. The methodology used to produce the land cover mapping of the St. Lawrence Lowlands thus relied mainly on combining and enhancing the best existing products for each theme. This project was made in collaboration with MDDELCC as part of the St. Lawrence Action Plan (SLAP).

This feature delineates forest and vegetation stands in the Yukon at a scale of 1:5,000. It is an operational level forest inventory (as opposed to a management level). This inventory has been completed in various stages, between 2013 and 2014, and delineation via softcopy from stereo images acquired in the years 2007 and 2012. The aerial images used for the Haines Junction region (Champagne and Aishihik Traditional Territory) had a ground sample distance (GSD) of 40 cm and were collected in both color and infrared. The National Ecological Framework for Canada's "Land and Water Area by Province/Territory and Ecodistrict” dataset provides land and water area values by province or territory for the Ecodistrict framework polygon, in hectares. It includes codes and their English and French descriptions for a polygon’s province or territory, total area, land-only area and large water body area.

Land Features entities are: Island, Shoreline, Wooded Area, Saturated soil, Landform Feature (esker, sand\...), and Cut Line. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format, and complies with international geomatics standards. The theme of land use offers a complete vision of the various uses of Quebec territory. It is the result of the assembly of various geographic data respecting use and distribution agreements. This product combines information on agricultural, forest, humid, humid, aquatic, anthropogenic environments, as well as on forest cuts and bare soils.
