This spatial data identifies breeding zones used by forest managers and forest genetic associations to manage provincial forest genetic assets. The data: * shows the boundaries of breeding zones * identifies the primary or target species within each zone Species are associated with certain breeding programs, seed orchards and progeny (descendant) testing installations.

The dataset was developed to provide geographic guide to better understand the boundaries of the Industrial Heartland - Designated Industrial Zone (IH-DIZ). The IH-DIZ industrial zoned land extends into 5 different municipalities, including: Approx. 533 km2 within the City of Fort Saskatchewan and the Counties of Lamont, Strathcona and Sturgeon. Approx. 49 km2 in the City of Edmonton, which is the industrial area known as the Edmonton Energy and Technology Park.

This boundary layer shows all Special Conservation Areas (SCA) in Manitoba.The purpose of this dataset is to show the boundaries of all Special Conservation Areas (SCA) in Manitoba, as designated by the Designation of Wildlife Lands Regulation (171/2001) under The Wildlife Act (C.C.S.M. c. W130). Special Conservation Areas are designated to conserve and protect particular species and habitats throughout Manitoba. The Use of Wildlife Lands Regulation (77/99) determines what activities are prohibited within each Special Conservation Area. The Itcha Ilgachuz Caribou Habitat Area (IICHA) and associated quadrants were developed as a part of the 2002 Northern Caribou Strategy, with revisions in 2011. The boundary is based on caribou telemetry to 2011, and is used to form the outer boundary of the quadrants that are used to help determine the rate of cut within WHA 5-086.

Prior to January 1, 2008, fishing divisions were administrative units to manage, monitor, assess and regulate recreational fisheries.
