The dataset was developed to provide geographic guide to better understand the boundaries of the Industrial Heartland - Designated Industrial Zone (IH-DIZ). The IH-DIZ industrial zoned land extends into 5 different municipalities, including: Approx. 533 km2 within the City of Fort Saskatchewan and the Counties of Lamont, Strathcona and Sturgeon. Approx. 49 km2 in the City of Edmonton, which is the industrial area known as the Edmonton Energy and Technology Park.

On July 6, a train of 72 cars, carrying 100 tons of crude oil each, exploded in Lac-Mégantic. A high-resolution aerial photograph was collected by Aéro-Photo after the train derailment. This aerial photograph was provided and georeferenced by Aéro-Photo (1961) inc. Purpose: This aerial photograph makes it possible to identify the impact radius of the accident. Argo Canada
Argo is a key component of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) with an array of about 4,000 autonomous instruments reporting on ocean conditions. These floats collect data on ocean temperature and salinity, and in some cases, additional properties that characterize the ocean’s biological and chemical processes. Established in 1999, Argo represents an international collaboration involving contribution from more than 30 nations. Data from Argo floats are made publicly available within 24 hours of collection time, for free. The data provide valuable information on changes to the Earth's climate and hydrological cycle. They are used for a variety of purposes, such as assessing climate change, improving weather forecasts and developing ocean models.Argo Canada, led by Fisheries and Oceans Canada, has been a key contributor to the International Argo Program since its inception in 2001 . The program has been supported by contributions from Department of Environment and Climate Change Canada, Department of National Defense, Dalhousie University, University of Victoria and Ocean Networks Canada.
NAFO fishing division 4T Herring Spawning Grounds Acoustic Survey
In 2015, a spawning ground acoustic survey that follows the design of the fishery-independent acoustic survey was initiated. This survey is the result of a partnership between DFO and fishery associations. The survey design uses random parallel transects within predefined strata. Surveys are conducted by fishermen in the fall fishing season according to protocols developed by DFO. The survey is conducted at night, during the weekend fishery closures except in Herring fishing area 16C and 16E in 2015 to 2017, where this region didn’t have weekend closures. The spawning ground acoustic survey is meant to provide a nightly estimate of spawning biomass among regions. It is analyzed in the same manner as the fishery-independent acoustic survey. The catches from the experimental nets are used to calibrate the spawning group specific target strength in order to obtain the nightly estimates of spawning biomass.
Lac-Mégantic accident: satellite images after the incident
On July 6, 2013, a train of 72 cars carrying 100 tons of crude oil each exploded in Lac-Mégantic. Images from the Pléiades and KompSat 3A satellites were acquired in order to follow the field work during the recovery phase.
