Built-Up Area
Built-Up Areas are man-made land cover features, ranging from small hamlets at rural cross roads to large cities. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Built Boundary for the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2006
The built boundary identifies built-up urban areas across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. It is a fixed line that reflects what was built and on the ground when the Growth Plan came into effect in June 2006. The boundaries are an important implementation and monitoring tool for the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The built boundary will allow the province and others to measure intensification and redevelopment within the built-up area, and also allow us to monitor suburban development outside the built-up area. The built boundary was released in its final form on April 2, 2008, along with the methodology used to create it. This product requires the use of GIS software. *[GIS]: geographic information system
Range Units
A Range Unit is an administrative area established to assist in the management of the range program. Typically made up of one or more pastures. Generally, one or more Range Units make up a Stock Range
Timber Supply Areas
Represents timber supply area and other land use boundaries in the province of Saskatchewan. Timber supply areas are the primary management unit used for the allocation of timber harvest, licensing, forest management planning and harvest volume schedules. The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment regulates forestry activities on Crown “forest lands” — as defined by The Forest Resources Management Act — using several types of licenses and permits: Forest Management Agreement (FMA)A forest management agreement is a 20-year agreement, typically with a larger forest company, conferring long-term harvesting rights for a specific volume of timber from a defined area, as well as responsibilities for long-term sustainable forest management. Term Supply Licence (TSL)A term supply licence (TSL) is a licence with a term of up to 10 years, granting rights to harvest specified forest volumes as well as responsibilities for forest management. A TSL may be volume-based or area-based. Forest Product Permit (FPP)A forest product permit grants the right to harvest specified forest products for a term of up to one year. This permit is also used to regulate other activities, such as grazing in the forest. Land use is classified into three categories: Commercial ForestAreas within the provincial forest that are available for commercial timber harvest allocation through the use of forest management agreements (FMA), volume-based or area-based term supply licences (TSL), or forest product permits (FPP). Fringe ForestAreas, generally south of the provincial forest, that contain “forest lands” — as defined by The Forest Resources Management Act. Within the fringe forest, harvest allocations are administered by the Ministry of Environment through the use of forest product permits and volume-based term supply licenses. Other UsesAreas within the provincial forest that are not available or suitable for forestry activities. These include protected areas and areas generally north of the commercial forest. For the entire Canwood, Nisbet, Fort a la Corne, Torch River, and Porcupine Provincial Forests, and the southern portion of the Northern Provincial Forest, boundaries follow the textual descriptions found in The Forest Resources Management Regulations, F-19.1 Reg 1, amended June 2020. Commercial forest and fringe forest areas are sub-divided into timber supply areas. Forest Names and Licence Holders are current as of August 31, 2020.
Seral Stage Assessment Amalgamation Units for the Cariboo Natural Resource Region
This dataset is a combination of landscape unit, biogeoclimatic zone/subzone/variants and Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan (CCLUP) leading group type (PineGroup or FirGroup) used to roll up seral stage assessments in the Cariboo Natural Resource Region. Refer to the **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #2: Amalgamation of Small NDT-BEC Units in Relation to Assessment of Seral Objectives and Old Growth Management Area Planning** and **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #3: Definition of the Fir Group and Pine Group for Purposes of Seral Stage Assessments within NDT 4 of the Cariboo-Chilcotin** (see below under "Related Links") for more information on how seral stage assessment amalgamation units are derived.
Niagara Escarpment Plan land use designations
Depicts the internal boundaries of the Niagara Escarpment Plan area. The 7 land use designations are: * escarpment natural area * escarpment protection area * escarpment rural area * [minor urban centre](/dataset/minor-urban-centres-in-the-niagara-escarpment-plan) * urban area * escarpment recreation area * mineral resource extraction area The land use designations represent the internal boundaries between designations within the Niagara Escarpment Plan. These internal boundaries are not intended to be site-specific and should not be used for accurate measurements. The exact delineation of designation boundaries on specific sites will be done by the implementing body through the application of the designation criteria as outlined in Part 1 of the Niagara Escarpment Plan, utilizing the most detailed or up-to-date information available and site inspection. Stock Range
A Stock Range is an administrative area established to coincide with local livestock association areas. Generally, stock ranges are made up of one or more range units. Stock ranges are found in select areas of the province where applicable; not all areas of the province contain stock ranges
Area Based Management Plans
Area Based Management Plans (ABMP) are designated areas for the purposes of environmental protection. It must consider the impact of point and non-point source of waste, cumulative impact of the wastes, environmental management objectives and outcomes for the designated area, and ongoing monitoring and reporting.
NEF Area1and2 Polys Wpg
This the data for the Winnipeg AVPA Regulation's interactive web map. It contains two polygon datasets that help users determine whether a property is affected by requirements in the regulation and a point dataset to help users navigate to propertiesThis is the data for the Winnipeg Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation's interactive web map. It was developed to help interested parties determine whether a property is affected by the Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation. To protect and foster the airport’s operations and continued growth, while ensuring orderly and efficient development within Winnipeg, the Province has adopted an Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation under The City of Winnipeg Charter. The regulation defines two protection areas called "Area 1" and "Area 2".These areas provide direction on where and what type of residential development may take place near the airport. Area 1 comprises of lands immediately adjacent to the airport, where no new residential development will be permitted, except for replacement of buildings and minor infilling. Area 2 is located further away from the airport, where new or replacement residential development may be constructed. All development within the regulated lands must comply with indoor noise level limits set out in the Regulation. The parcel boundaries in this interactive map are representations of parcels as defined by plan of subdivision or plan of survey registered at the Land Titles Office. This type of property boundary was chosen because the land division in these plans is used to define property ownership in Manitoba.
BLKPASSAGE OFFICIAL
BLKPASSAGE_OFFICIAL is one of the important layers for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). The BLKPASSAGE_OFFICIAL provides the information of road blocked passage to clients that require accurate, relatively up-to-date and detailed description of Saskatchewan Road Network.BLKPASSAGE_OFFICIAL, This layer contains data for a structure indicating a physical barrier on a Road Element built to prevent or control further access. BLKPASSAGE_OFFICIAL contains all the blocked passage points in the Saskatchewan. BLKPASSAGE_OFFICIAL is an important part of the Saskatchewan road network dataset. Each point geometry " BLKPASSAGE" has unique Identifiers (NID). "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users.
