Old Growth Management Areas - Legal - Current
This 'Current' spatial data layer is publicly viewable and downloadable, contains the most current Legal Old Growth Management Area (OGMA) polygons and excludes any sensitive information. This data represents legally established and spatially defined areas of old growth forest that are identified during landscape unit planning or an operational planning process. Forest licensees are required to maintain legally established OGMAs when preparing FSPs. OGMAs, in combination with other areas where forestry development is prevented or constrained, are used to achieve biodiversity targets. This spatial view will show the most current polygons and excludes sensitive information. This data is viewable in iMapBC by 2 layers: Legal Old Growth Management Areas - Current, Old Growth Management Areas - Legal. Please see the Additional Information and Object Description Comments below.
Old Growth Management Areas - Non Legal - Current
This 'Current' spatial data layer is publicly accessible, contains the most current Non-Legal Old Growth Management Area (OGMA) polygons and excludes any sensitive information. This data represents spatially defined areas of old growth forest that are identified during landscape unit planning or an operational planning process. Forest licensees are not required to follow direction provided by non-legal OGMAs when preparing FSPs, and may choose to manage required old growth biodiversity targets in other ways. OGMAs, in combination with other areas where forestry development is prevented or constrained, are used to achieve biodiversity targets. Please see the Additional Information and Object Description Comments below.
Natural Resource (NR) Areas
The spatial representation for a Natural Resource Area. An NR AREA is an amalgamation of all NR Regions within the supplied boundaries and acts as an administrative area to these regions as established by the Ministry. This dataset supersedes WHSE_ADMIN_BOUNDARIES.NRO_ADM_AREAS_SP
Civic Addresses Points WMS for the NWT
This dataset represents points where address site data has been collected. These points are an amalgamation of different origin point data translated into a NG911-compliant schema using ESRI's Address Management Solution as a reference for compliance and data integrity.*This dataset requires extensive QA/QC and should not be used as an authoritative, source only for application-testing purposes*
2000 AAFC Land Use
The 2000 AAFC Land Use is a culmination and curated metaanalysis of several high-quality spatial datasets produced between 1990 and 2021 using a variety of methods by teams of researchers as techniques and capabilities have evolved. The information from the input datasets was consolidated and embedded within each 30m x 30m pixel to create consolidated pixel histories, resulting in thousands of unique combinations of evidence ready for careful consideration. Informed by many sources of high-quality evidence and visual observation of imagery in Google Earth, we apply an incremental strategy to develop a coherent best current understanding of what has happened in each pixel through the time series.
Game Management Areas - 250k
Game Management Areas (GMAs) are legal boundaries that define an area within which big game management objectives can be met through the setting of area-specific regulations. In other words, GMAs are used to manage Yukon wildlife species. GMAs are a combination of Game Management Zone (GMZ or Zone) and Game Management Subzone (GMS or Subzone). There are 443 GMAs in the Yukon which are grouped together into 11 Zones. In general, Zone boundaries follow highway centre lines and Subzone boundaries follow creeks and rivers. In effect, GMAs delineate mountain blocks, which reflects their original use as sheep management units. Despite this original intent, GMAs are now used to manage all species of Yukon wildlife. With the exception of National Parks, the entire Yukon is covered by GMAs. This data was built using the 1:250,000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) as the digitizing base.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . GHA Hunting Season Table
The purpose of this dataset is to give an accurate representation of the game hunting boundaries in Manitoba. The purpose of this dataset is to give an accurate representation of the game hunting boundaries in Manitoba.Game Hunting Areas (GHAs) are defined under the Hunting Areas and Zones Regulation (220/86) of The Wildlife Act (CCSM c. W130). Game Hunting Areas are used to support boundaries for species-specific hunting seasons, harvest allocations, bag limits and associated regulations. Refer to the Hunting Areas and Zones Regulation for GHA boundary descriptions.Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field description)OBJECTID (OBJECTID): sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated GHA (GHA): the number assigned to each Game Hunting Area Shape_Length (Shape_Length): the length of the feature in internal units Shape_Area (Shape_Area): area of the feature in internal units squared
Gull - Wildlife Key Area - 250k
Wildlife Key Areas (WKA) are locations used by wildlife for critical, seasonal life functions. WKAs are identified by interpreting observed locations of wildlife at key times of year, not through intensive habitat assessment. Polygons derived from interviews with locals and from GIS interpretation of wildlife/habitat surveys. GIS interpretation follows criteria specific for taxon and/or populations of taxon. Key Areas are based on observed locations of wildlife at key times of year, not on habitat assessment. With new information, boundaries and designations of Key Areas can change and additional Key Areas can be identified. Furthermore, Key Areas are not the only sites important for wildlife. Other information sources can identify other sites important for wildlife for reasons outside the scope of the WKA Inventory Program. Updates to Key Areas occur only periodically. For the most current information, please consult with the Regional Biologist for your area of interest. If you have questions or would like to contribute to the WKA database, please contact the WKA Inventory Program ( [wka@yukon.ca](mailto:wka@yukon.ca) ).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://mapservices.gov.yk.ca/GeoYukon/) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca) . Natural Resource (NR) Districts
The spatial representation for a Natural Resource (NR) District, that is an administrative area established by the Ministry, within NR Regions.
